Universal Constant

What do you think are universal constants in the world we live? What seems to be an unbreakable rule?

All things contain two opposite aspects, which are both interdependent and in conflict. Each one attracts another. The greater the difference, the greater the attraction. One repels another. The greater the similarity the greater the repulsion.

Everything seems to be trying to balance itself. Or – unbalance it? For every high there is a low. For every huge there is a tiny. For every action there is a reaction…Is there are anything more constant then a balance? Each thing depends upon its opposite in order to exist. There are no absolutes in the universe.

In Physics there is this Einstein’s theory of general relativity. Space and time are essentially relative to whatever object is doing the observing. Every object is at the centre of all things. If everything is relative, what’s constant then? Can we define a mathematical equation of “a=b” as a universal constant? A Balance. So hard to solve it.

On a mere mortal opinion: personally, I don’t like things to be balanced. It kind of takes the exciting part out of it, doesn’t it?

  1. hello misstick

well I am opening my mind for my daily dose of philosophy and here it is in your journal not a shocker

yes the only thing that is constant in my universe is my reminding myself of paradox

you do have a beautiful journal

  2. If boredom is the balance of exhilaration, then we need the boredom to appreciate the exhilaration. We need the contrast. Right?

But on the other hand, my life is pretty balanced. No big highs. No big lows. At my age, I think I prefer it that way.

    Shalom.
